One hundred percent of donations goes into service for the community. No one draws a salary or is reimbursed for expenses. We use dogs to find lost hikers, hunters, berry pickers, runaway children, potential suicide victims, and dementia patients and bring closure to families by finding human remains. People think paid public servants respond or pay us, they do not. We do not charge for these services. We work for two years to fully train and develop our canines into reliable, friendly partners to handlers who take unpaid time from their jobs to serve the community. Our canines are trained not to react to being hit or kicked because this is the common reaction of 50% of dementia patients. Each handler buys and pays all the canine's expenses along with expensive equipment to be an effective searcher. Currently, if we are called to a long distance search the handlers pay for their own gas, food and lodging while traveling and performing the search. We would like to develop a fund to reimburse handlers for travel expenses and develop a healthcare fund for dogs injured while on a search or in training. Our primary team expense is liability insurance so we can practice these lifesaving skills.
