In Canada, about 47% of our food goes to waste, while nearly 1 in 4 people struggle to get enough good food to thrive.

Food Stash is a Vancouver-based charity that combats food waste and improves our community's equitable access to nutritious, preferred food.

Each month, we pick up about 140,000 lbs of surplus food from grocery stores, wholesalers, and farms, and deliver this good, surplus food to 53 nonprofit community partner organizations for their essential programs ranging from community kitchens at youth resource centers to hot meals at emergency shelters. Our nonprofit partners nourish and connect over 13,500 people each week using the food that we deliver to them.

We also provide food and groceries directly to hundreds of community members each week through our in-house programs, including customized grocery home deliveries for low-income households with disabilities, and a unique Rescued Food Market.
