The mission of Feline Friends of Moore County (FFMC) is to humanely reduce the population of abandoned, stray, and feral cats in Moore County, North Carolina. Tragically, many of these cats end up in high kill shelters, traumatized and afraid, where they are summarily euthanized without ever knowing kindness. Feline Friends of Moore County considers this to be unacceptable. In an effort to humanely reduce the proliferation of unowned and unwanted cats, FFMC has implemented an approach to the problem that includes Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), Rescue and Rehome and Spay and Neuter Education. TNR seeks to limit the growth and improve the health of community cat populations, Rescue and Rehoming Operations seek to find loving, forever homes for socialized stray cats and kittens and Community Education Operations teaches residents about the importance and availability of spay/neuter services and is paramount to the success of reducing numbers of unwanted cats in Moore County.
