Since 2006, Family Promise works to change results for families at risk experiencing homelessness. Its holistic, individualized case management focuses on providing resources but working with the family to create a sustainable solution with affordable housing, gainful employment, financial literacy, education and addressing other barriers.Currently, Family Promise has two programs focused on families. For families experiencing homelessness, we provide a temporary shelter program using partnerships with congregations that provide food. Family Promise provides case management services. Each day shelter families use the Family Resource Center to access computers, laundry, showers and other daily needs. A successful diversion program added in 2019, Family Support, provides the same holistic case management to at-risk families and uses restricted funds for prevention services.Family Promise is the vehicle for women to access the knowledge allowing them to efficiently navigate resources to equip them to break out of the poverty cycle. In 2023,88% of the families moved to housing.93% of the adults in the Shelter program were employed when graduated.The average length of stay was 53 days in the Temporary Shelter program.84% of the families in the Family Support programs maintained or improved their income.
