About us

OUR MISSION Drifter's Hearts of Hope is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization committed to circumventing the horse-slaughter pipeline. OUR HISTORY In 2014, Drifter's Hearts of Hope was founded to give at-risk horses a second chance at a forever home. The organization's namesake is a papered Quarter Horse: a champion roping horse who ended up as a stray after an injury. He went from being found on the side of the road to the heart horse for the organization that would become Drifter's Hearts of Hope. HOW TO HELP With the dedication and ongoing support of the community around us, DHOH continues to increase it's reach and impact in the horse community. We've seen many of our rescues go to wonderful loving, forever homes, all through the efforts of the members and supporters of DHOH. Our efforts are supported solely by donations, adoption fees, sponsorships, and A LOT of volunteer sweat (we are completely volunteer run). Want to get involved and help us save horses? Check out our How to Help page, make a tax deductible donation, or contact us today!
