As the only full-service legal aid clinic specializing in immigration-related matters in the region, we serve an average of 20,000 to 25,000 low-income and indigent individuals per year. Through six programs, we provide a comprehensive range of immigration legal services. DMRS currently provides representation to individuals seeking benefits through a family member as well as those seeking citizenship through naturalization. We also provide representation for foreign-born religious workers wishing to serve in our Diocese. We represent survivors of domestic violence, violent crimes, and human trafficking as they seek benefits under the Immigration & Nationality Act. We represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts and provide services to adults and unaccompanied immigrant children detained in the local immigration detention centers and shelters. DMRS also regularly provides immigration-related know-your-rights presentations to community groups and collaborates with a variety of local stakeholders to advocate for policy change and improvements in the treatment of immigrants and refugees in our community. During this unprecedented time of challenges for immigrants, these individuals and families need your support through the life-changing work that DMRS does by helping immigrants come out of the shadows and feel safe.
