Coastal Purrs Cat Rescue is a dedicated 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization serving the Coastal Virginia community. Operating as a foster-based rescue, we are a team of passionate volunteers committed to providing a second chance for felines in need through compassionate care and advocacy.

What We Do

Our mission focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation, and successful rehoming of cats and kittens. We provide a comprehensive support system for every animal that enters our care:

• Rescue & Medical Rehabilitation: We step in to help cats from various backgrounds, including those found as strays or in high-risk situations. Every cat receives vital veterinary attention, including age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention, and spay/neuter services.

• Loving Foster Care: Unlike traditional shelters, our cats live in private homes with dedicated foster families. This environment allows them to decompress in a natural setting, ensuring they are well-socialized and ready for domestic life.

• Specialized Advocacy: We take pride in helping vulnerable populations that are often overlooked, such as kittens requiring extra medical support or cats with chronic conditions that need a patient, understanding hand.

• Finding Forever Homes: We utilize a thoughtful adoption process to ensure each cat is matched with a family that fits their unique personality and needs.

As a non-profit, Coastal Purrs relies entirely on the generosity of our community. Every donation, sponsorship, and adoption fee is funneled directly back into the rescue to cover medical bills, high-quality nutrition, and essential supplies.
