VRA Rescue NSW – Cessnock–Kurri Kurri is a dedicated, community-based volunteer rescue squad serving the Lower Hunter region.

Our members are highly trained in a wide range of specialist rescue disciplines, including road crash rescue, land search, vertical rescue, and large animal rescue. We work alongside emergency services such as NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, and Fire & Rescue NSW to respond when people are at their most vulnerable.

Available 24/7, our volunteers give their time freely, leaving their families, jobs, and daily lives, to help others in times of need. Every callout is powered by skill, teamwork, and a deep commitment to our community.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on community support, fundraising, and donations to maintain our vehicles, replace life-saving equipment, and continue training to the highest standards.
