About us
35 years of care
We have been caring for the city’s pets and wildlife since 1887, helping, healing and homing over 7,000 vulnerable animals each year. We are proud to hold such a long heritage in Bristol, as the oldest and largest animal charity in the city. We are an independent charity, and although we are proud to be affiliated with the RSPCA, we receive no automatic funding from them. We rely entirely on local support within the community to fund our vital work.
Our Mission
Since opening our doors in 1887, we have cared for hundreds of thousands of injured, stray, abandoned and neglected animals. It is our mission to protect and improve the lives of Bristol’s most vulnerable animals, promoting kindness to animals – from corn snakes to St Bernard’s – we are here for them all.
We are the main rescue centre taking in stray animals in Bristol and are proud to hold the stray dog contract with Bristol City Council. We do everything we can to reunite lost pets with their families. Those who are not claimed are welcomed into our care, and we work tirelessly to find the perfect new loving family for them.
We add Feature Views for every £ you pay.
