In 2016, Bring Smiles to Seniors was founded to remind seniors that they are remembered and loved. Ron Tyson founded the program when visiting his grandmother in her nursing home. The organization works with schools, civic groups, companies and individuals to make and decorate greeting cards. These cards are then delivered to residents in assisted and independent living communities, nursing homes, seniors participating in elderly nutrition programs (Meals on Wheels) and seniors at home. The first year Bring Smiles delivered 7,719 cards. In the first half of 2020 the organization delivered in excess of 90,000 cards to over 800 seniors communities across the country and beyond. Because of seniors in isolation the need for our services has increased dramatically and therefore our expenses. We are an organization staffed by unpaid volunteers and are fully supported by the individual donations and contributions. In addition, Bring Smiles is a 501(c)(3) organization.
