The Bloomingdale Family Program provides high quality, inclusive preschool education that values parent engagement and supports all children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds and with disabilities. Using a whole-child approach, we nurture children and families for a smooth transition to kindergarten while addressing systemic inequalities in early education and family support in NYC.  We deliver evidence-based early learning, inclusive classrooms, therapeutic services, family engagement programs, and connections to essential community resources. We serve children ages 3-4 in the Manhattan Valley community, most from families who live at or below the poverty line, face housing insecurity, or are newly arrived immigrants. About half of our students also present with developmental delays, disabilities, or socio-emotional challenges. Through individualized support and early identification, we help close gaps before they enter kindergarten.  Equally important, we support parents and caregivers through workshops, leadership development, case management, and individualized support so they can advocate for their children and themselves. Our goal is to ensure all children, regardless of background, leave Bloomingdale prepared for long-term academic, social, and emotional success strengthening both their futures and the community’s.
