Big Brothers Big Sisters Central of Carolinas (BBBSCC) has a mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Ultimately, bridging the gap for opportunity for all youth to achieve their full potential. All BBBSCC programs follow the nationally recognized one-to-one mentoring framework. Programs include: Community-Based programs: matches meet in the community; Traditional School-Based Mentoring Program: matches meet at school; Beyond School Walls Mentoring: local companies host middle school children at their corporate office; Bigs with Badges: connects youth with police and first responders in communities; High School Bigs: connects high school students to elementary school youth; Children of Families in Transition (COFIT) provides families lacking permanent housing with parenting skills and other resources to establish stability; and SUCCESS (Students Understanding College and Careers through Education, Skills and Support) provides monthly opportunities focusing educational and career support for students between the eighth and twelfth grade.
