About us

NorCal Crew is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to empowering young people through the sport of rowing. Based in Redwood City, California, the organization exists to provide structured athletic training, leadership development, and meaningful life opportunities to middle- and high-school students from diverse backgrounds.

Our Charitable Purpose

NorCal Crew’s core charitable mission is to:

  • Provide access to organized youth athletics

  • Promote physical health, discipline, and teamwork

  • Foster leadership and character development

  • Expand opportunity through scholarship support

  • Serve the broader community through inclusive programming

  • Middle school and high school students

  • Families in Redwood City and surrounding Bay Area communities

  • Youth requiring financial assistance

  • Student-athletes seeking college recruitment opportunities

The organization is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent motivated students from participating. Scholarships and fundraising initiatives directly support access for underserved youth.

Programs and Community Impact

NorCal Crew provides:

  • Competitive junior rowing teams

  • Developmental and introductory Learn-to-Row programs

  • Summer camps

  • Leadership development opportunities

  • College recruitment guidance
