​Beare Garden Rescue is a 501(c)3 registered charity and licensed animal shelter located in Snow Hill, North Carolina. Our organization receives no government funding and operates entirely on individual donations, grants and fundraising. Our mission is to rescue animals from pain, hunger, and abuse, and provide temporary shelter and care for unwanted cats and kittens as we help them find forever homes. Our shelter is strictly no-kill. We often accept animals who are injured, sick, or turned away by other shelters that are full or unable to help. We pull cats from high-kill shelters in our region, sometimes only hours before they would have been out of time and put down. Many of the cats in our care have suffered from human cruelty, neglect or abandonment by people who no longer wanted them. In our first six years of operation, we have facilitated over 1,700 adoptions for homeless cats.
