We are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming beagles.  Main focus is beagles in shelters that are faced with imminent euthanasia. We work with shelters and animal control facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic area and, occasionally, those outside the area. We work with adopters to find homes for our beagles in the Mid-Atlantic as well further south and west.In addition to our rescue efforts, we are dedicated to increasing public awareness of pet overpopulation and encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. Towards that end, no beagle over six months of age is adopted from BREW without being spayed or neutered.  We also work to alert people about the disadvantages of purchasing pets from a "pet store."Animal Welfare process:  All beagles adopted from BREW are spayed/neutered, current on all vaccines to include rabies and distemper, and micro chipped. In addition we address any out of the ordinary medical issues such as dentals, cherry eye repair, hernia repair, heart worm positive treatments, skin conditions, torn knee ligaments, broken bones and any other issues as needed. Some of the dogs we take in have end of life issues.  We give them the necessary medical treatment and place them in a hospice home to live a good life for the time they have left.
