Angelman Syndrome Association Australia Cover Photo
The ASAA was established to support, inform, educate, network, foster research and to advocate for families affected by Angelman syndrome. Angelman syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the nervous system and causes severe physical and intellectual disability. It's relatively rare, occurring in around 1 in 15,000-20,000 people. We want to raise awareness of Angelman syndrome across Australia and improve the timely and accurate diagnosis of AS. We also want to find the 'missing angels' who have been misdiagnosed with severe autism, cerebral palsy or global developmental delay - but actually have AS.
