Albury Wodonga FoodShare has been increasing access to quality, nutritious food for people experiencing financial stress or hardship for over 15 years. It does this by rescuing and redistributing food through a network of partner organisations and agencies located across North-East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.

Each year, FoodShare collects more than 800,000 kilograms of food from over 65 suppliers. This equates to approximately 1.55 million meals, which are distributed to 120 regional agencies and schools supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in rural and regional communities.

In response to the 2020 Summer Bushfires and the Coronavirus pandemic, FoodShare introduced its Community Pantry Program. This initiative provides accessible, nutritious food directly to community members who are struggling to put food on the table, offering a flexible and dignified way to access support.

FoodShare’s impact is made possible by the contribution of more than 200 dedicated volunteers who support the organisation’s operations across food rescue, sorting, packing, and distribution.
