AGAPE is a community-based nonprofit organization serving Warren County, Missouri, with a mission to fight hunger, prevent homelessness, and promote stability for local families. For more than three decades, AGAPE has stood as a cornerstone of compassion in our rural community, ensuring that no one faces crisis alone. We believe that meeting basic needs is the first step toward restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity.

At the heart of our work is the AGAPE food pantry, which provides free groceries to thousands of local residents each year. Families shop in a client-choice format that allows them to select the foods that best meet their household’s preferences and dietary needs, preserving dignity and reducing waste. We also operate a Mobile Food Pantry to reach homebound and rural residents who struggle with transportation barriers.

Beyond food assistance, AGAPE’s programs address the interconnected issues of housing instability and poverty. Our Emergency Assistance program helps prevent homelessness by providing critical support with rent, utilities, and temporary shelter for those facing eviction or crisis. We also coordinate seasonal programs such as “Share-A-Christmas” and the “Back-to-School Bash,” which ensure that local children have gifts under the tree and the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.

AGAPE’s services are made possible through the generosity of our community—volunteers, donors, churches, and local partners who share our vision of neighbors helping neighbors. Our thrift store provides affordable goods to the public while generating vital funding that supports our mission. Each program is rooted in the belief that when we come together in love and service, we can create lasting change.
