The National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG) is Australia’s only provider of free and unlimited specialist bereavement counselling for children and teenagers (aged 3 – 18 years). In addition to bereavement counselling for children and their families, the NCCG also provides education and training for individuals, schools, health professionals and other organisations handling the grief of children and young people. One in 20 Australian children will experience the death of one or both parents by the age of 18. We know this has a profound and life-long impact on children. Our services contribute greatly to providing a child with the opportunity and resources to thrive in life despite their grief. Founders Mal and Dianne McKissock OAM, internationally recognised experts in the field of child bereavement and grief counselling, established the Centre 25 years ago. There are many testimonials received from those who have been through our programs over this time. See this link to hear from the children who have attended ‘A Friend's Place’, the NCCG’s bereavement care centre, located in Sydney. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs9wL2yOXKQ The NCCG relies on the generous investments from corporate sponsors and the public to finance our necessary and valued work. We welcome your support to continue the provision of our specialist services in helping children and their families to rebuild their lives, to continue to have meaning and purpose following the death of a loved one.
