About us
Te Awhi Tangiwatanga ( Nurturing Autism) is a Charitable organization set up to provide Families with Neurodivergent members support to help them thrive not just survive.
It is specifically making support available to Ethnic minority - especially Maori who may not usually be able to access the help they need to develop skills in order to manage living with an Autism and/or Neurodivergency present in their whanau.
Autism and associated Neurodivergent tamariki are so often seen as the problem especially in education.
Te Awhi Tangiwatanga aims to change that mind set. It will assist whanau in embracing Autism and/ or Neurodivergency as a super power. Whanau should feel nurtured and be shown Awhi in their journey of raising tamariki with these powers.
