About us
We serve the public as a certified, trained resource to assist the Mercer County Sheriffs Department in locating missing persons and evidence in Mercer County and surrounding areas efficiently, while ensuring the safety of the searchers and the lost. Our motivated volunteers work in collaboration with the Mercer County Sheriffs Department to support a strong public/private partnership. Mercer County Sheriffs Search and Rescue (MCSSAR) responds to searches for lost and missing persons and evidences searches in Mercer County and surrounding areas as determined or directed by the Mercer County sheriff. MCSSAR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to support the organization and assist law enforcement.
