Founded in 2023, Mahina’s Ohana Rescue is a registered 501c3 non-profit dog rescue based in Clackamas, Oregon. We’re an an all-breed foster-based dog rescue that saves dogs from high-kill shelters throughout the west coast. It is our role as a small but mighty rescue to enrich these dogs' lives so we can find them the best suited and loving forever homes here in beautiful Pacific Northwest! We focus majority of our effort on saving overlooked dogs such as pit bull/bully breed type dogs since they are the most at-risk of being euthanized. In the Hawaiian culture, family holds a sacred place and is considered the main foundation of society. The concept of an ohana (family) extends beyond immediate relatives and includes our community, friends, and man’s best friend. We wanted to incorporate our Hawaiian culture into our dog rescue. The advantage of being a small-based rescue is that we’re able to focus on providing quality individualized care for our rescue dogs and build strong relationships with our supporters and community. We strongly believe that quality 1 on 1 care for our rescue dogs help them to become the best versions of themselves and truly set them up for success in their furever homes!
