Kids Ranch serves children ages 7 to 12 and their families across Sauk County, Wisconsin, and surrounding communities within an 850 square mile service area. For more than 27 years, our mission has been building caring, capable, and confident kids. We provide individualized literacy instruction and mental health support that help children strengthen reading skills, confidence, and emotional well-being. Kids Ranch offers free or low cost tutoring and mental health counseling year round, and during the summer we host Kids Ranch Summer Day Camp. Across all programs, we create opportunities for growth and connection that help children build confidence, resilience, and life skills. The children we serve may be navigating financial hardship, learning differences, trauma, or family stress, and we partner with children and their families through two coordinated programs. During the school year, students are paired with trained volunteer tutors once or twice each week using a structured, individualized literacy approach that meets each child where they are and builds on their strengths. In the summer, children gather at our 50 acre ranch in rural Wisconsin for eight day camp sessions that include literacy instruction, mental health activities, nature experiences, gardening, music, art, and animal therapy.
