The 2026-27 school year marks our 82nd year serving Christian families in Cambria, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties. Our mission is to partner with parents and their church families to educate children academically and in the teachings of Christ. We are dedicated to offering a solid academic program while holding an unwavering commitment to integrating our faith.  Our curriculum and extracurricular activities place Christ at the center, working to realize His truth and purposes in everything we do and learn.

Our theme and guiding verse, Psalm 78:4, states: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.” Our faculty and staff are dedicated to Jesus Christ and incorporate Biblical truth into all classes and activities. We consider it a great privilege to love, teach, guide, and mentor the students entrusted to our care.

Here are some of the strengths of Johnstown Christian School:

• We serve children from preschool through Grade 12.

• We are fully accredited through ACSI, Middle States International, and the National Council for Private School Accreditation.

• We offer a comprehensive range of academics, including dual-enrollment college-level classes, technology, practical academics, foreign languages, music, art, physical education, and a resource room.

• We provide both boys' and girls' athletics at JCS and through co-ops with local public schools.

• Service is central to our mission, and all students engage in service opportunities.

• Our students participate in speech meets, art shows, science fairs, PMEA events, leadership development, and retreats.

• Co-curricular clubs and activities offer opportunities for growth, including First Lego League Robotics (Explore and Challenge Levels), Reading Team, Middle School Clubs, High School Drama/Theater, and Band (Elementary, Middle School, and High School)

• Our faculty regularly engages in professional development to learn current best practices and enhance our teaching skills. In addition, our teachers are certified in their subject areas, and many hold master’s degrees in their content area.
