Gracious Hands' mission is to provide each mother and her children with resources and solutions to move them from homelessness to housing and self-sufficiency and love them back to life. In the short nine years Gracious Hands has operated, we have served over 320 women and secured them into self-sufficiency.There's an opportunity for our organization to not only minimize these conditions for this disadvantaged population but also to increase access to GH's programs and holistic services that will lead to self-sufficiency for the entire family because our transitional housing services are accessible to anyone with children, regardless of sex and gender. The targeted work, or services, GH offers families include (but are not limited to): financial literacy, life skills, mental health counseling, and more. GH built and opened a childcare resource center in 2023 to offer our families a way to eliminate the childcare barrier.For mothers with children older than 9, GH has partnered with an organization to provide individualized programming for young men through ABLE (All Boys Emit Light). Young men work through various social-emotional activities and life skills training and receive mentorship and mental health resources. GH's programs and services combat homelessness with holistic, wraparound services, including transitional housing, financial literacy, life skills training, and mental health support for women, youth, and families. GH also offers homeownership education, independent living support, childcare resources, and access to essential items. Graduates have continued access to our services, and we are creating pathways to homeownership and job opportunities within the organization for program graduates. Youth programs focus on mentorship, leadership development, arts enrichment, money management, health, and prevention.
