About us
The Gendercide Awareness Project has two goals:
1. To raise awareness that 143 million women and girls are demographically missing (dead) from the world population due to severe discrimination and lack of rights. Our most effective tool is an art exhibit that demonstrates this number. It is a floor-to-ceiling maze of 14,300 pairs of handmade baby booties, with each pair representing 10,000 "missing" women and girls. The exhibit's powerful visuals get the underreported issue of gendercide in the news. The exhibit has been shown in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
2. To take action by providing K-12 education (and when possible university education), to at-risk girls in seven low-income countries. These girls could not possibly attend school without our financial help. We believe that educating vulnerable girls is the best long-term solution to end gendercide.
