Fuse Theatre Ensemble is an award-winning collective of artists whose focus is presenting new and classic works of the Queer canon. We work to center historically marginalized groups as all parts of our community intersect with queerness. We also produce more local playwrights than any theatre in the Portland area. We are leading the nation in terms of trans representation, both on the boards and in the boardroom

Fuse produces The OUTwright Theatre Festival, an annual celebration of the Queer contribution to theatre. The festival generally consists of a feature production, a workshop production, and a series of readings of emerging scripts.

Fuse operates out of the small but historic 40 seat Back Door Theatre located directly behind the Queer owned and operated Common Grounds Coffee Shop. The Back Door Theatre has been a longtime home to Portland queer theatre scene having housed numerous companies over the years who have appealed to Queer audiences.
