Forever Hounds Trust has been rescuing, caring for and homing greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds for 24 years. These beautiful dogs find themselves in our care for many reasons, but they all desperately need our help to find them a safe and happy home, having been neglected, abused, or finished their career as a racing greyhound.
We are entirely reliant on our supporters to cover the substantial costs of saving these hounds.
We have now homed over 10,000 dogs. At any one time, our charity has around 50 dogs in rented kennels and experienced foster homes across England. Our kennel spaces are full 365 days a year.
When dogs come into our care, it represents their second chance at life, after a typically traumatic start. All dogs receive a full health check, neutering, vaccinations, flea treatment and worming, dental treatment, micro-chipping and behavioural support. They also receive veterinary and medical care.
Dogs regularly come to us needing treatment for injuries and sickness caused by cruelty or neglect. All too often, no-one has cared enough to treat wounds and skin sores, or even to give basic treatment.
Once in their forever homes, their new families receive ongoing support from our qualified behaviourists, for the dog’s entire life.
