Faith Hope and Love Animal Rescue is a North Carolina charity, run totally by volunteers. They rescue primarily dogs - from the community, from Animal Control departments, from people who have died and left their pets behind, and any other circumstances where the animal is in need of rescuing. They take all of their rescues to the veterinarian, and have whatever medical care is needed to address the physical issues the animals bring with them. They spay/neuter, test and start heartworm meds as needed, and ensure that all of their prospective adopters are vetted before allowing the animals to leave their control. There are even some dogs that remain in the possession of the rescue.
