Empathy for Special Children is a registered UK charity, working across Shropshire to improve the lives and reduce social isolation of those growing up with a Hidden Disability. Neurodiversity is hidden in plain sight all around us, every day but what the world does not see it does not understand, leading to fear, isolation and loneliness for many but "Why fit in when you were born to stand out"- Dr. SeussAt Empathy, we believe that different is not wrong, it is simply different and that with the right support and opportunities everyone can meet their potential. Seeing the world differently should not be a barrier to fun, friendship or living a full and active life.Under 4 core themes, we provide the local opportunities for children, young people, and those who care for them, to ENJOY life.With the support of specific teams to ENABLE success and EMPOWER all with the skills, and confidence to find their voice. A community, a place of belonging, to feel valued, and accepted, to EMBRACE this life less ordinary and live their best lives, lifelong. Over the past 13 years, we have supported 1000’s of children, young people and their families to live better lives, free of loneliness and isolation. However, it is now critical that we raise funds to save the current projects from closure and can continue to change lives.
