Founded on October 19, 2019, Calpaws K9 Rescue is a foster based nonprofit organization dedicated primarily to the rescue and rehabilitation of German Shepherds, while remaining open to helping other dogs when a committed foster is available to advocate for them. Since our founding, we have helped more than 2,200 dogs find safety, medical care, and loving homes.

Operating entirely through a network of volunteer foster homes, we provide individualized care that allows dogs to heal and thrive in a home environment. A core part of our mission is addressing pet overpopulation by promoting and supporting low cost spay and neuter services. By working to prevent unwanted litters and reduce shelter overcrowding, we aim to create long-term, sustainable change for animals and the communities we serve.
