In April 2014 Bodmin Moorland Pony Rehabilitation was founded & the direction of our own lives changed forever & our journey in to equine welfare began, after we were asked to help a small group of Semi Feral ponies from Bodmin Moor.

Since our inception we have grown to help & specialise in the care & rehabilitation of semi feral & fly grazed ponies from across the South West & beyond, gaining registered charity status in June 2016 & by choice, remaining a small 100% volunteer driven organisation, working solely for the ponies & not for profit, working with compassion & kindness.

 ​A place of sanctuary, our aim is to support semi feral ponies, victims of abandonment, fly grazing, neglect and abuse, where possible, we help our residents find health, trust and the opportunity of a secure future and a home of their own.

A small, entirely volunteer run charity, each pony is treated as an individual, gently nurtured from neglect, trauma and/or illness at their own pace to ultimately become wonderful family companions for life via rehoming, and in some cases, remaining in our care, teaching us more and more about how to nurture them using gentle, fear & force free, positive trust building training. It is important to us that all of our ponies have the freedom of choice, live outdoors in small family type groups observing their ethological needs as closely & as holistically as we can within a domesticated environment, to ensure their positive wellbeing & welfare.

Our experience has also demonstrated ways in which the rehabilitation of the ponies can include, improve and benefit from the environment in which we operate, and also the lives of the humans who become involved
