❣️SAVING SRI LANKAN & ZAMBIAN DOGS & CATS❣️

The Dziko Project operates in both Sri Lanka and Zambia changing the lives of dogs, and cats, and supporting local communities.

🏝🇱🇰 Sri Lanka has an estimated 1-3 million free-roaming dogs nationwide. As the females continue to fall pregnant (as they are not spayed), 10’s thousands of unwanted puppies are born every year, and sadly live very short lives due to abuse, disease, injury and, especially, starvation. Sri Lanka was devastated by the 2004 tsunami, the Easter bombing in 2019, and the global pandemic, and is now experiencing the worst economic crisis since independence in the later 1940s. With soaring inflation and daily cost of living, significantly reduced tourism, communities have lost their incomes and the flow-on effect is that animal welfare is not a priority.

🦒🇿🇲 Zambia and its rural areas are among the world’s hotspots for rabies. Zambia’s idea of rabies elimination and population control is to conduct mass culling (shooting) of all street dogs and unregistered dogs, particularly in rural areas. With inflation of 40% in the last two years (2021 & 2022), in the local community, hundreds of unwanted puppies and kittens are born every day who sadly will die shortly after that mainly due to starvation.

With your support, we can spay/neuter, vaccinate and treat as many more street/beach dogs and cats & support disadvantaged families in the care of their beloved pets. You have the power to help! Will you?

100% of the funds raised go directly to the veterinary costs of spaying/neutering and vaccinating dogs and cats.
