Operation Catsnip of Kentucky, Inc
Our mission is to stop the overpopulation of community cats through aggressive high volume spay/neuter. Since our inception in 2008 we have altered over 11,000 community cats in Shelby County. Our goal is to fix every community cat possible in our county. We have saved hundreds of lives and unimaginable suffering by preventing the births of more unwanted cats and kittens. Because of our mission our local shelter and humane society have received a decline in the requests for help with cats by over 75 percent.
We hold monthly clinics for outdoor, community cats. All of our cats are not only fixed, but vaccinated for Rabies and distemper, flea treated and any other medical issues that are addressed will be fixed. We only ask for a financial donation from the caretaker to help us sustain our program. No one is turned away due to their inability to donate.
We feed over 100 community cats in our county daily that we have fixed and provide winter shelters and any medical care they need.
In addition to Trap, Neuter, Return we also offer a small foster program for any adoptable cats and kittens or cats that cannot be returned due to their health or safety issues.
Our organization does not have a brick and mortar facility, no one is paid except our veterinarians for their services. Everyone else is volunteer. We use our own money for gas, our own vehicles and purchase our own food and litter for the community cats and fosters.
By supporting us feel confident in knowing that every dollar donated goes back to spay/neuter or medical not to any overhead expenses.
