OPCA Shelter Network Alliance, Inc. is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to aiding shelter poodles and poodle-mixes by working collaboratively with shelters, rescue organizations, dedicated individuals, and groups. Many of the poodles in shelters may have special needs or may be facing their final hours, some are puppies, and some are seniors but all, healthy or not, need advocates to speak for them. By working with shelters and the rescue community, we strive to give these helpless shelter poodles a voice ... a way to be found, rehabilitated, adopted, or rescued, and for many this helps prevent them from being euthanized. Our advocacy efforts toward saving and enhancing the lives of shelter poodles, combined with our supportive OPCA Urgent Medical Care Fund and OPCA Cancer Care Fund programs have given thousands of shelter poodles HOPE for better tomorrows. In concert with the efforts of others, more than 9,000 poodles or poodle-mixes that appear on and/or networked via OPCA are adopted or rescued each year.
