We believe that Research is the most effective way to improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. Because NBCF doesn’t receive any Government funding, by supporting NBCF you are contributing directly to our vision of zero deaths from breast cancer. 

NBCF research has helped improve early detection, develop better therapies, and a greater understanding of possible ways to stop the spread of breast cancer to other areas. Since we were established in 1994, we have awarded more than $200 million, raised entirely by the Australian public, to nearly 600 Australian-based, world-class research projects to improve the outcomes for those affected by breast cancer. 

With you in our corner, we’ll fund the very best breast cancer research to detect tumours earlier, improve treatments and ultimately – save lives. Since NBCF started in 1994, there has been a 43% improvement in the mortality rate from those diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s amazing progress but the work is not done.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among females in Australia. Over 3,200 Australians will lose their lives this year to breast cancer. They’re startling statistics, but together we can change them. We are funding one uncompromising vision: Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

We are committed to funding the very best innovative research — from finding better ways to detect breast cancer earlier, to figuring out what causes breast cancer cells to spread, so we can work out how to stop it.
