Kitten Safe House e.V. is a German non-profit association dedicated to supporting the rescue, protection and welfare of abandoned, injured, orphaned and vulnerable cats in Croatia.

We support Kitten Safe House in Rijeka, Croatia's first official cat-only rescue shelter, where a dedicated family-led team works tirelessly to provide rescued cats with safety, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and the chance to find loving forever homes.

Our mission goes beyond rescue. We support the care of orphaned kittens, sick and elderly cats, humane Trap–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return (TNVR) programmes, and education promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Every donation helps provide food, veterinary care, medication, sterilisation and safe shelter for cats who have nowhere else to turn.

OCTOBER 2026: 🐾URGENT SOS CAMPAIGN: Help Us Save 90 Cats Found in One Apartment! 🐾

Kitten Safe House e.V. is supporting an urgent rescue effort in Rijeka, Croatia, following the discovery of approximately 90 cats living in a single apartment.

This is an extraordinary animal welfare emergency, but sadly not the first crisis our rescue community has faced. https://www.facebook.com/reel/3705683059583331

These cats urgently need veterinary assessments, medical treatment, food, hygiene supplies and safe, appropriate care.

We are establishing an emergency SOS fund to help cover the enormous costs of this rescue operation while continuing to care for the cats already depending on our shelter.

Please support Kitten Safe House e.V. by voting for us. If you can, please also consider making a donation to our emergency SOS fund.
