DreamCatcher Horse Rescue- Founded in 2006 by the Wheatley family, and is family owned and run -  Began with 2 horses- Sonny & Little Girl- and is now home to  50+ horses. Became a 501(c)3 in 2008 when the recession hit and  saw a need for horse rescue 

We have Rescued, rehabilitated, & re-homed  over a 1000 horses over the years.  Specializing  in major medical cases- like Highway the horse - fell of a horse trailer on the  way to slaughter on a busy interstate. He needed 3 surgeries to have a chance of survival.   Dreamcatcher is now  their forever home as sanctuary. we have no employees - just a  wonderful group of volunteers who help us feed and maintain the facility, many volunteers are older and retired and this is an escape for them giving purpose in their life again. others are teenagers who come spend their weekends with us helping - again helps to keep them  focused and learn many life lessons. Financially we operate  from one of the founders, Alison, donating  at least 50% of her income from real estate sales to cover feed and care costs.  we also offer a wide range of activities for our community to come and enjoy at a low cost.
