Bridges Health & Community Care is Wide Bay’s longest established, leading provider of community-based mental health and drug and alcohol services. We offer a range of interventions from psychological services, care coordination for people with serious mental illness and complex needs, through to counselling for youth, adults, families and carers. We offer training and mental health promotion services to increase awareness & understanding of mental illness, drugs and alcohol and reduce stigma and discrimination. The key objectives of our organisation are to: - promote the rights of people who experience mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues to have valued social roles and access to work, services and community participation; - facilitate the inclusion of people who experience mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues in the broader community and/or workforce; - create a restorative and therapeutic environment within which people who experience mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues can achieve or regain the confidence and skills necessary to lead vocationally and socially satisfying lives, through productive employment, personal growth, friendship and social networks, access to services, career development and long term financial security; - create a restorative and therapeutic environment within which people who experience mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues can achieve or regain the confidence and skills necessary to lead vocationally and socially satisfying lives, through productive employment, personal growth, friendship and social networks, access to services, career development and long term financial security; - provide people with direct relief from poverty, suffering and/or misfortune arising from their mental illness and/or drug and/or alcohol issues; - commit to the principle that regardless of the level of disability, every individual experiencing mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues has a contribution to make; - plan and implement programs and activities which meet the diverse needs of the individuals who are experiencing mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues; and - evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the Company's programs and activities to meet the needs of the individuals who are experiencing mental health and/or drug and/or alcohol issues.
