Atlas is one of the few organizations that helps people with disabilities train their own service dog, overcoming the expense, long wait lists, and shortage of trained dogs. Our program pairs clients with highly trained volunteers for at least six months, teaching them how to work with their dog as a team, navigate safely in public places, and mitigate the challenges of their disability.

We use humane, fear-free training methods to foster a strong bond between clients and their dogs. Each client receives a custom training plan and all the support they need to succeed. After six months of training and passing our Public Access Test, the client and dog team receive a service dog vest and ID card. This certification allows them to access public places where dogs are typically not allowed, improving their independence and self-sufficiency. Thank you for supporting our life-changing program!
