Animal Friends of Connecticut (AFOC) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit no-kill rescue organization, located in central Connecticut serving our local community in New Britainand beyond. AFOC’s mission is to increase the quality of life of the cats entrusted to us by providing them exceptional care, protection, and loving compassion. We rescue stray, abandoned,abused, and special needs cats in the communities we serve. They’re given medical care, vaccinations, are spayed/neutered and are cared for at our no-kill humane shelter or in foster homes until they’re adopted into a loving forever home. We monitor and assist feral colonies as needed because we know that the cats in a colony who share a common food source and territory may include not only ferals, but also strays – former pet cats who were recently lost or abandoned and are still tame. Most feral colonies originate from unneutered stray cats.
