Adamas Nexus has been operating for 4 years as a post-crisis peer-based support group for women (and those who identify as women) to empower and assist each other via shared experience, understanding and peer-support through the period after the domestic violence and/or sexual abuse has occurred. The support group provides a confidential and safe environment for abuse survivors to meet to provide peer-support in both online and face-to-face forums. The repeated format at each meeting provides a recognised agenda. Attendees can be either active participants or observers at the meetings. The support group is forward thinking and positive.

Statistics show that women are predominantly the victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse which is why Adamas Nexus initially targeted women, and those who identify as women, for its support group meetings. Attendees are of varying ages from mid 20s through to late 60s with varying socio-economic status.

Adamas Nexus is unique in its format which aims for long term support of survivors of abuse. It complements Counsellors, Psychiatrists, Therapists, other support groups and Mental Health plans. It allows survivors to return to the group at times during their life when they feel alone, vulnerable and in need of support.
