Teen Challenge WA is the State's largest youth drug and alcohol rehabilitation and training centre, and has been in operation since 1985. Teen Challenge can help anyone who really wants to change, who wants to get the 'monkey off their back', the monkey being addiction to drugs, alcohol or other life control issues. The 12 month program is challenging - hence the name - and teaches young people (aged 16 and over) why they think the way they think and do the things they do - and provides positive strategies to overcome addictions. The first thing a 'student' does is to detox cold turkey from all addictive substances, including nicotine. After detox comes rehab, with study, work period, training (yes, people even learn to cook!) and more. Teen Challenge is a deductible gift recipient charity (i.e. tax receipts are issued), and depends to a large extent on public donations. Today, almost everyone knows someone who needs help in this area - and everyone deserves a second chance at life. Will you help us to help those who daily seek our assistance and help to change a life from hopelessness and despair to freedom, success and significance? One of them could just be your relative or friend. THANK YOU!
