We need the community to know about the invisible and forgotten victims of crime - the children of prisoners who are seven times more likely to go to prison than their peers. We visit them in their homes, buy new school uniforms and shoes to minimise bullying at school and restore their dignity. We prevent truanting to divert them from entering Detention and then into the prison system as adults.
We teach them positive values at PK Mentoring Camps so they can make good choices for their own lives. We provide birthday and Christmas presents so they feel accepted, a sense of belonging and are valued. The negative influences of their parent's drug associates exposes them to bad habits leading to a downhill slide like mum and dad. It is not their fault. They can make good choices leading to a crime free and tax paying pathway if we encourage them and show them a better way to live.
