SAFE Bunbury currently rehome around 700 cats and dogs per year. Our President Sue Hedley from SAFE Karratha was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to animal welfare in the 2019 Australia Day honours list. We work collaboratively with local government and vets to microchip, treat health conditions and sterilise cats and dogs in our care in the local community. All our animals are rehomed sterilised or in the case of kittens and puppy's they come with a desex voucher. This helps reduced the unplanned and unwanted pregnancy's, reducing the risk of animals being dumped. We do get neglected cases and the need for vet treatment increases and we are so grateful that to-date we have always been able to assist animals in need, with fantastic financial assistance from the public. Through positive change, the primary goal of SAFE is to make a difference in the quality of life for cats and dogs and to promote the immense value to humans of pet ownership.
