Snowy Mountains Wildlife Rescue LAOKO (Looking After Our Kosciuszko Orphans) is a 24hr / 365 days per year wildlife rescue service for sick/injured/orphaned wildlife based in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, Australia. We are a non profit organisation - our volunteers are committed to the welfare and preservation of our local native wildlife. Injured or orphaned animals are cared for and rehabilitated ready for release back in to their natural habitat. Our organisation receives no recurrent Government funding and relies on the kind generosity of the public for donations and bequests, combined with our own fundraising efforts. We need your help! Our 2 main running costs are firstly, the purchase of specialised marsupial milk plus equipment for a range of native animal types. Secondly, the purchase of expensive treatment chemical and equipment for our Wombat Mange Treatment Program (mange in wombats is rife throughout the Snowy Mountains).
