We need your support to "bring hope where there is none, to find a home in a time of loss and to restore hurting families for brighter communities".
Homestead For Youth (H4Y) exists to bring safe refuge and mental health restoration to youth in the Perth and Peel region by engaging youth and families in a hands-on multifaceted mental health support service. Our service provides 1) Recovery through a live-in rural family environment, 2) Family Support and Youth Mental Health Therapy through our Psychology & Counseling Clinic and 3) Mentoring and Life Skill Training using hands on high-engaging therapies on the farm and within the local community. Our hands-on approach creates a level of safety for our youth who don't engage in traditional therapy. Urban art, music, horse therapy, car restoration, animal therapy, horticulture and farm work are primary programs we use to engage youth in their mental health recovery and transition into education and training. Through all 3 services we assist the youth and their families as we restore lives and transform communities. We have psychologists, counselors, youth workers, mentors and family support workers on team. With suicide the number one killer of our youth and the Peel region holding the highest rate of suicide we expanded our community impact this year to provide in home family support as well as in town free youth programs to ensure financially distressed families can access our services for their youth also.
