Counterpart - women supporting women with cancer Cover Photo

Women with a lived experience of cancer are uniquely placed to help other women with a cancer diagnosis to live well. Counterpart is based on this simple but powerful idea. Counterpart connects, supports, and informs women with cancer to live well. Trained Peer Support Volunteers with an experience of cancer give understanding and a listening ear, as well as emotional and practical support. Women with cancer can talk to a volunteer or staff member over the phone or by visiting our Resource Centre in Melbourne's CBD. Our peer support is supplemented by a range of information resources and wellbeing sessions with qualified health professionals that complement the medical system and other cancer support services. Counterpart is a service of Women's Health Victoria and is supported by the Victorian Government.
