Community Cat Carers Inc. is a small, independent cat rescue group that works to desex, rehabilitate and rehome street cats and kittens and provide first aid and refuge for the sick and injured. Community Cat Carers Inc. was registered as a DGR 1 charity in 2012. Our "no-kill" rescue group was formed initially to desex, rehabilitate and rehome street cats and kittens in Sydney's Inner West, Redfern and Waterloo. The enormity of the homeless cat problem across greater Sydney has expanded our activities to the Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney, and parts of the North Shore as well. We have established three refuges in Redfern, Burwood and the Liverpool area, accommodating anywhere up to 150 cats and kittens at a time. Many of the older animals are permanent residents that have very little chance of finding forever homes, but with us they are assured of food, shelter, vet care and love. Our successful adoption program regularly finds homes for suitable animals and we have an excellent retention rate given our rigorous homing requirements. At all levels volunteers run the charity and we are entirely dependent on public donations and in-kind support to keep going.
In 2019 MyGivingCircle and UBank are giving $50,000 in grants to Australian not-for-profits. It's free to vote for us plus if you donate to us we get an extra vote for every $ you give, even more for regular giving. Please vote and donate to help us share in $50,000 in 2019.
